Don’t be left out, get your 30 seconds

Do you want to be seen nation-wide during the NCAA Division I men’s basketball national championship?

Well, you don’t have to buy Final Four tickets to do it. Just film (or take a photo) yourself supporting your team (in this case the Fightin’ Texas Aggies) and upload it at TasteTheMadness.com.

Taste the Madness web site. Upload your videos and photos here.

So where does the national championship come in to play? The best entries will be selected by judges and your video or picture (and for that matter your team) will be a part of a Coke Zero “vignette” that will air before tipoff of the national championship game. The winners will also be uploaded to ncaa.com.

So if you want to get your team some quality face time before the national championship ,especially if your Aggies are playing in the game, get out and let the world know how much you support your team. Show the world all the great things about Aggie basketball and its fans.

Aggie men’s bball

Aggies win again, beating Iowa State 87-69. Josh Carter had 29 points.

But if you’re reading this you probably already know all that so here’s the comentary.

I wrote a column awhile back that said when the Ags beat Texas, it tends to lead to a turnaround by the team. Low and behold the Aggies are winning since they beat Texas 81-66 a few weeks ago. In fact they’re 3-0 since then with a big win coming at Nebraska. I think Colorado and Missouri are the only teams left on the schedule.

Missouri will be the toughest but the Ags have the advantage of having them at home. The Ags need to win if they want to have anychance of making the NCAA tournament. That’s not to mention needing to win at loeast one, maybe two games in the Big 12 tournament.

But as I’ve said before, that win against Texas was special. I have a feeling this team will be just fine and will get into the tournament. It’s just what they do.

rushing the court

YES! THANK YOU FOR RUSHING THE COURT ON NATIONAL TV! THE WOMEN DESERVED IT!

Taking down No. 2 Oklahoma with a one-point victory. Way to go ladies. Like I said in the last post, these ladies could be getting hot at the right time. That’s what Gary Blair teams do.

If Gant gets back to full strength, the Aggies could make a really strong run.

not bad for playing No. 2

The women’s basketball team, which I think has been terribly inconsistent and underachieving this season, is losing 33-28 to the No. 2 team in the nation at halftime.

Not bad.

After Oklahoma went on a 7-0 run early in the half to take a 9-2 lead, I was ready to type out a whole blog about how disappointing the women have been this season.

Granted they probably shouldn’t have been ranked so high to start the season, Gary Blair’s teams do have a history of getting hot at the right time.

With the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments just around the corner, maybe this is the beginning for Blair and the Aggies.

However it is clear A&M is missing the production of senior Danielle Gant. After suffering a head injury against Texas on Saturday that had made her questionable for today, she started the game and played nine minutes of the first half. However Gant, who has averaged 13.8 points per game this season, has clearly been effected because she only has two points and is 1-for-4 from the field.

Junior Tanisha Smith and freshman Sydney Carter have been the keys to the tight score in the first half. Smith has scored nine points and Carter has posted five off the bench.

The Aggies are going to have to shutdown Danielle Robinson, Courtney Paris and Nyeshia Stevenson in the second half. The trio has combined for 25 points against one of the better defenses in the Big 12.
